| Discover a taste of Crete's delicious culinary heritage. Join a resident professional chef and organic farmers for an exciting day in the fields and kitchen. Heraklion Area: Class begins at 10:00 am and concludes at 3:00 pm. Meet us in a gorgeous traditional village in the foothills above Heraklion where wine and olive oil has been produced for over 4,000 years. We'll walk to an organic farm nearby to meet the farmer and discover what's growing and what ingredients are ready to harvest for our lunch. We'll stroll back to the village for our interactive cooking demonstration with a fantastic, professionally trained chef. Relax and enjoy lunch featuring delectable fresh and local dishes paired with organic wine. The village is about 30 minutes away from Heraklion by car or the local bus. We'll provide complete details to registered students. This program is designed for small groups, providing a rare opportunity to discover a taste of Crete's culinary treasures in the company of resident specialists. It's also a great way to learn about sustainable living practices while supporting community-based heritage preservation projects. Program costs per person: 2 - 3 people: 210 Euros 4 - 6 people: 160 Euros 7 - 12 people: 150 Euros 12 - 20 people: 130 Euros* Advance reservations and payment is required. Fees include: Farmer and chef -instructor and demonstration fees and lunch. The menu is preplanned, family style, featuring an array of traditional Cretan dishes to sample as part of the seminar, and locally produced wine (2 glasses per person maximum) or another local beverage of your choice. Vegan and Vegetarian dishes are already on the menu, of course. If everyone in the group is vegetarian, we can easily tailor the menu.
